AZCentral.com reported yesterday that over 20,000 traffic stops have been made since the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety created a DUI task force. The task force was put in place to crack down on the number of impaired drivers on the streets and highways. Of those 20,000 traffic stops, more than 1,200 people have been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI). Of those, nearly 250 face Extreme DUI charges (an enhanced DUI charge you can face if your BAC is over .15%).
Nearly 10,000 others of those stopped were issued citations for other offenses.
If you have been charged with drunk driving or any other driving/traffic-related offense, it is important that you talk with an experienced Phoenix criminal defense lawyer. Your freedom and driving privileges are very important and you must do everything you can to protect them.
