An Arizona news source reported that three individuals were seriously injured on Monday by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 17.  The wrong-way driver was killed as well as the driver of one of the vehicles hit. 

Several others were also injured in the accident, but not critically.

Officials say they do not know why the man was driving the wrong way and that they may not know until they receive autopsy results.

Eastvalleytribune.com reported that Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials is seeking charges against a 69-year-old woman who allegedly left the scene of an accident that resulted in the death of a 6-year-old boy.

According to a search warrant, Sharon Ann Irvine called the DPS to report damage to her car on the same day that the 6-year-old Ahmend Abdirahman was killed at the scene of an accident.  Irvine swerved to miss the minivan that Abdirahman's mother was driving, which later collided with another minivan.  Neither Abdirahman nor his three siblings were wearing seatbelts.

Azcentral.com recently reported that Phoenix police are saying that a woman shot the father of her children in their apartment last Friday afternoon.

Police responded to find that the man had been shot. According to officers, the woman had shot the man in a domestic violence-type situation.  The woman has been taken into custody.

A news report in Phoenix stated that a man in his 50s was killed in a head-on collision at 16th Street and Camelback.

The man was riding a motorcycle and the article does not specifiy whether the man was pronounced dead at the scene or if he died at the hospital.  The intersection was closed after the accident occured.

There has not yet been word about who was at fault in the fatal crash.
